Siew Mai

Ingredients:

Seasoning: Pepper, Light Soya Sauce, Sugar, Shao Xing Wine & Sesame Oil

Method:

1. Marinate the mince pork with the seasoning. Leave aside for a while

2. Mince all the other ingreidents meanwhile

3. Mixed all ingredients together. Do not add in too much water chestnut or the mouthfeel will be kinda funny when u eat the siew mai.

4. Wrap the mixture into the wanton skin.

5. Steam for about 10-15minutes. Do not put the siew mai too close to one another because after steaming, the skin will stick together.

Evaluation:

For a first try, outcome is consider not too bad but there is certainly still room for improvement. The meat is a bit dry and not tasty enough. Through internet research, egg is also added to the mixture so i will try adding in egg next time round. This is a rather simple to made Dim Sum. All it takes is a little bit of your time and an extra effort to make it for your love ones... =)
